About Us

Our Story

Ockenden Group was founded in February 2025 with a clear purpose — to deliver custom design and built solutions that combine craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity.

Our story begins with Ben Ockenden, who started his career as a carpenter in 1996. From the very beginning, Ben had a passion for creating things that last — built with precision, care, and a deep understanding of materials. Over nearly three decades, he has worked across a wide range of industries, refining his skills and broadening his expertise. His experience spans custom luxury log cabins, agricultural and industrial construction, high-end residential carpentry, renovations, timber frame kit houses, auditoriums, commercial bars, shopping centres, and hotels.

This wealth of experience gives Ockenden Group a unique edge. We understand the full spectrum of design and build — from the smallest bespoke detail to large-scale commercial environments. Our approach is rooted in craftsmanship, but forward-looking in design and delivery.

In July 2025, Ben’s wife Lynsey joined the business, bringing her energy, organisation, and a shared commitment to growing the company with purpose and heart. Their son Joel also became part of the team as an apprentice carpenter, continuing the family tradition of hands-on skill and dedication to the craft.

We’re proud to have an in-house architect Damien, allowing us to provide clients with a seamless experience from concept and design through to completion. Alongside our awesome team of talented carpenters, administrative staff, and an experienced estimator, Ockenden Group continues to grow — built on family values, teamwork, and trust.

At Ockenden Group, we believe that every project deserves thoughtful design, robust construction, and genuine collaboration. Drawing on Ben’s extensive experience and our team’s collective expertise, we take pride in delivering results that are beautifully made, expertly built, high-performing, and affordable — designed with care and built to last.
